Forest School Woodland Explorer for Schools
Forest School is an organic, dynamic process which affirms who the children are, not just rewards what they can do.
Find out more about the Forest School ethos.
The children come to the wood for a two hour session where they have the opportunity to engage with the natural world and learn new skills through taking part in activities which meet their individual learning and developmental needs.
The children are encouraged to try new skills, manage risk and develop environmental responsibility which builds their self confidence and self esteem. Evidence has shown that this enables them to engage more effectively with classroom learning and improves their performance.
It is run by a qualified Forest School Leader.
Schools can book a six week programme for a maximum of 15 children.
To cater for a whole class, children could come on alternate weeks over a term.
Opportunities to meet the requirements of the National Curriculum can be provided.
